Princess Kate once allegedly "grimaced" after Meghan Markle's request, according to Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have a frosty relationship with the Royal Family now, but that wasn't always the case.
Meghan married into the Royal Family in May 2018 but she made her first joint appearance with Prince William and Princess Kate just months before as Prince Harry's fiancée. In February 2018, the two couples attended the first annual Royal Foundation Forum, where an "awkward moment" took place between the two women, according to the Duke. Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare, that the incident took place due to a forgotten lip gloss.

He claimed: "Meg asked to borrow Kate's lip gloss. An American thing.
"Meg forgot hers, worried she needed some, and turned to Kate for help."
The Duke claimed the exchange highlighted the two women's cultural differences, as the future Queen was left "taken aback" and even "grimaced" as the Duchess used her lip gloss.
He wrote: "Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube.
"Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced. Small clash of styles, maybe?
"Something we should've been able to laugh about soon after. But it left a little mark."
He also alleged that the Princess of Wales could have been "on edge" thinking about how she was going to "be compared to, and forced to compete with, Meg".
Princess Kate has never commented on Harry's claims.
