Meghan Markle savaged by fans after wishing herself a Happy Birthday in vain post

Meghan Markle was brutally mocked online by royal fans after her brand issued a message for her birthday. The Duchess of Sussex stayed silent on her official Instagram account on Monday, August 4, the day of her 44th birthday; however, her lifestyle brand, As Ever, posted a tribute to its founder.

As Ever uploaded a new black-and-white image of the Duchess wearing a dark dress and a light fedora, writing in the caption: "Celebrating the woman behind it all. She pours her heart, vision, and magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder @meghan." However, some fans did not perceive the post well, criticising Meghan for wishing herself a happy birthday.

It came amid the Royal Family's silence on Meghan's special day, as the Duchess received a handful of birthday messages online from celebrities and friends.

One user wrote on X: "Just as predicted [laughing face emoji] saying Happy Birthday to herself-because y'all know there's no real 'team' or 'we' at #AsEver. This is 100% Markle talking about Markle. So corny."

A second one said: "The woman behind all the flops?[laughing face emoji] this is so cringe. It's like giving yourself a high five lol."

Another one added: "We can be sure that she wrote this because the first thing she does is praise herself and tell us what she wants us to believe she does and is, and she also refers to herself as founder because she wants to remind us that she's the founder of an empire."
