Kyiv shows Russia how it's done as it tells Kremlin to drop ultimatums act

Ukraine is ready to agree on a ceasefire with Russia in today's peace talks in Istanbul, a source in Kyiv's delegation told AFP. The source urged Russia to have a "constructive position" and "stop speaking in ultimatums". They said: "Everything will depend on whether Russia stops speaking in ultimatums and takes a constructive position. This will determine whether results can be achieved at this meeting." Ukraine's delegation has arrived in Turkey, but not all of them are in Istanbul for the talks with Russia.

Part of the group is in the capital Ankara as their "assigned tasks" are different, RBC Ukraine reported. In the run-up to today's meeting, Moscow dampened hopes for any breakthrough, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying not to expect any "miracles". He said: "There is no reason to expect any breakthroughs in the category of miracles - it is hardly possible in the current situation. We intend to pursue our interests, we intend to ensure our interests and fulfil the tasks that we set for ourselves from the very beginning."
