A gruesome incident has rocked the Dharmavaram area of Sri Satya Sai district, where a 65-year-old man, Venkataramanappa, allegedly brutally murdered his son-in-law, Vishwanath, by severing his head from his body. Police have arrested Venkataramanappa and four accomplices in connection with the shocking crime.
According to Dharmavaram DSP Hemant, the motive behind the horrific act stems from an illicit affair and a burgeoning property dispute. Approximately 20 years ago, Venkataramanappa's elder daughter, Shyamala, married Vishwanath. However, a few years into their marriage, Vishwanath reportedly began an affair with his sister-in-law (Venkataramanappa's younger daughter).
Affair Leads to Separation and Living with In-LawsThe illicit relationship caused severe marital discord between Vishwanath and Shyamala, leading to their separation. Adding to the family turmoil, Venkataramanappa himself frequently argued with his wife, resulting in their estrangement. Following his split from Shyamala, Vishwanath moved to the Kadri area and began living with his sister-in-law and mother-in-law.
Property Dispute Fuels Father-in-Law's RageVenkataramanappa harbored deep resentment towards his son-in-law over the affair. His anger intensified when Vishwanath recently attempted to sell land registered in the name of his mother-in-law in Dharmavaram. This perceived betrayal and disrespect fueled Venkataramanappa's rage, leading him to conspire Vishwanath's murder.
To execute his plan, Venkataramanappa enlisted the help of his friend, Katamayya. On July 3, Katamayya lured Vishwanath to a secluded spot outside the city by offering him Rs 50,000 for the land. Once Vishwanath arrived, he was ambushed by Venkataramanappa, Katamayya, and three other individuals. They brutally murdered Vishwanath, reportedly beheading and dismembering his body.
Police investigated the case, utilizing phone records to track the suspects, and have successfully arrested all five accused in connection with the murder.
