After a gruelling 22-year wait,Freaky Friday fans have finally received a sequel to the Disney hit.
Freakier Friday lands in cinemas today (August 8), and sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles as mother-daughter duo, Anna and Tess.
Set decades after the 2003 original, the new film follows Anna as a single mother to teenager Harper (Julia Butters). When she falls for fellow single parent Eric (Manny Jacinto), the duo decide to merge their families.

But, with two teenage girls in tow, the task proves more difficult than they imagined. That's when the body-swapping magic of the original comedy swoops in, and forces the characters to step into each other's shoes.
The story is sure to thrill die-hard fans and younger generations unfamiliar with the first instalment. But should viewers remain seated after the credits roll?
Does Freakier Friday have a post-credits scene?Freakier Friday has a post-credits scene – and it's nostalgic treat.
Once the story wraps up, a behind-the-scenes blooper reel plays, showcasing funny moments that didn't make it into the final cut.
This was a staple feature in 2000s films and is hard to find in 2020s cinema. It's worth noting that the scene doesn't advance the plot, so if you're in a rush you could probably skip it.
However, if you miss films from the Y2K era, you should remain seated.

The blooper reel also proves that the cast enjoyed making this film, which is evident throughout the comedy. It's no surprise since the leading duo, Curtis and Lohan, have remained friends for decades.
Curtis has been particularly vocal about their ongoing relationship. During Freakier Friday's London premiere, she stressed that herself and Lohan are not "reuniting" for this sequel, as many reports have claimed. Instead, Curtis confessed that the pair have stayed "united" since the noughties.
Lohan has similarly vouched for their off-screen bond. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 39-year-old reflected on the day Curtis ran the idea of a sequel past her.
"I was like, 'Yes, I'm in, let's do it.' It's not very often that you get to work with someone who's been such a big part of your life on a personal level," she said.
"That was exciting for me, to come back and do a big-screen film with a woman that I admire, that's part of my life off screen. To have that chance again, it doesn't happen much. I felt lucky to be able to do it."
