Palghar, Maharashtra: A major fire broke out early Monday morning at a factory in the Dhansar industrial estate in Palghar taluka, causing extensive damage to the facility. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, even though workers were present for the night shift, according to police.
The incident occurred at the Platinum factory, located three kilometers from Palghar city in the Dhansar industrial area. The factory specialized in manufacturing materials used to strengthen and harden plastic products, utilizing mechanical machinery. The fire, which started during production, severely damaged finished goods, raw materials, machinery, and the factory building itself.
The blaze, which began around 3 am, was brought under control by 7 am after a joint operation by two fire tenders from the Palghar Municipal Council and Boisar MIDC fire departments.
Night shift workers at the factory noticed the fire and immediately called the fire department. In the interim, they attempted to extinguish the flames using the factory's available fire safety equipment. However, as the fire intensified, all workers safely evacuated the building on their own, preventing any loss of life.
