Malayalam star Rajesh Keshav health update: After cardiac arrest, actor shows gradual signs of recovery

Malayalam film and television star Rajesh Keshav is battling one of the toughest phases of his life, but there’s finally a ray of hope. The 47-year-old actor, who collapsed at a city hotel on Sunday night, was rushed to VPS Lakeshore Hospital after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. Since then, his fans and colleagues have been anxiously waiting for updates, and doctors now say that although his condition remains serious, there are encouraging signs of recovery.

According to PTI reports, hospital authorities revealed that Keshav was first taken to the Emergency Department, where he was successfully revived through immediate resuscitation. He was then shifted to the Cath Lab for an emergency angioplasty. Doctors confirmed that he had suffered a prolonged cardiac arrest that led to a moderate hypoxic injury, but his neurological recovery is now being closely monitored by the hospital’s Neuro Wing. Encouragingly, his blood pressure, which had initially dropped dangerously low, has since stabilised, and the dosage of supporting medicines is being gradually reduced.

“At present, he remains in the Intensive Care Unit under advanced life support,” the medical bulletin stated, while adding that the actor is showing gradual improvement. A multidisciplinary team of specialists continues to oversee his treatment.

Filmmaker Prathap Jayalekshmi also shared an update on Facebook, confirming the details of Keshav’s medical condition and praising the hospital staff for their dedicated care.
