Apple on Thursday announced that it will open its doors to customers at Apple Hebbal, its newest retail location in India, on September 2.
Bengaluru has emerged as Apple's largest operational hub outside its headquarters at Cupertino, California.
This opening marks a significant expansion for Apple in the country, offering more customers in India new ways to explore and buy Apple products, and experience Apple’s exceptional service in person in Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia.
This would be Apple’s third own retail store in India, after Mumbai and Delhi.
According to the company, "The barricade for Apple Hebbal was revealed this morning. Adorned with rich, vibrant feathers inspired by the Peacock - India’s national bird and a symbol of pride - the artwork celebrates Apple’s third store in India".
“At Apple Hebbal, customers will be able to explore Apple’s complete product lineup, experience new features, and receive expert support from team members such as Specialists, Creatives, Geniuses, and dedicated Business teams. Customers will also be able to attend Today at Apple sessions at this new store,” said the US-based tech giant.
Designed to inspire and educate, 'Today at Apple' helps customers get started with their devices or take their skills further - whether in art, storytelling, productivity, or coding - through free events led by Apple Creatives, including sessions on Apple Intelligence or working smarter on Mac.
Apple is expanding its India presence, having leased several office and retail store spaces across Mumbai and Bengaluru over the last two years, underscoring the country's growing importance as both a consumption hub and manufacturing base for the iPhone maker.
According to lease documents reviewed by ET, Apple and its partners have leased or committed to leasing almost a million square feet of prime real estate in marquee business districts and shopping centres since 2023. These include large-format office campuses in Bengaluru, premium mall stores in Mumbai and renewal of existing deals.
Bengaluru has witnessed a flurry of leasing activity by Apple over the past two years. In the latest deal, the company last month leased 268,737 sq ft at Embassy Zenith on Sankey Road in North Bengaluru for office operations, with a lock-in period of 10 years. In March this year, it took up 11,000 sq ft for a new Apple Store at Phoenix Mall of Asia at Hebbal in North Bengaluru. Its largest transaction came in 2023, when Apple signed a long-term lease for over 410,000 sq ft at Prestige Mink Square, Cubbon Road in the central business district, making it one of the city's biggest corporate occupancies at a single location.
