Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a major gift to farmers before Diwali. Today, on October 11, 2025, new schemes worth ₹35,000 crore have been launched for the country's farmers, which will directly benefit them. Giving this information, the country's Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that on this occasion, the Prime Minister will launch two major programs: the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Atmanirbharta Mission for Pulses.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, several steps will be taken to promote agriculture and improve farmers' incomes in 100 backward and low-production districts across the country. This scheme will further improve facilities such as irrigation, storage, production, and agricultural loans. Additionally, the Pulses Mission aims to increase pulse production from 24.2 million tons to 35 million tons by 2030-31. To achieve this, the area under cultivation will also be expanded to achieve self-sufficiency in pulses.
Additionally, the program will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for over 1,100 projects, totaling over ₹35,000 crore. These include animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, and agricultural infrastructure development. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also honor Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs), cooperative societies, and agricultural innovators.
Benefits:
This government initiative will not only help farmers increase production but also support them in increasing their income, utilizing new technologies, and strengthening the rural economy. This will be a major transformation for Indian agriculture, strengthening food security and improving farmers' lifestyles.
During the program, discussions will also be held on digitization and financial infrastructure in agriculture, ensuring farmers can easily access services and financial assistance. Additionally, this initiative will help connect farmers to the global market and improve the quality of agricultural products. This step of Prime Minister Modi is a big mission towards bringing beneficial changes in agriculture and making the country self-reliant in food security, which will take Indian agriculture to new heights in the coming years.
