Can you feed pigeons anywhere?
Recently, the Bombay High Court has upheld the ban on feeding pigeons. Let us tell you that in the hearing on August 13, the Bombay High Court had said that this ban will continue. Actually, keeping in mind the health problems and diseases spread by putting food in the open, the High Court had given the verdict.
That is, in Mumbai, anyone can feed pigeons in the open. But if someone does this on the roof of his house, then nothing has been said clearly in the High Court's ban about this. That is, you cannot feed pigeons in the open. However, let us tell you that no such rule has been implemented in other states.
What action can be taken?
If a person feeds pigeons in the open. Then action can be taken against him under the Municipal Corporation Act and sections related to public nuisance. In many cities, a fine is directly imposed for this. The Bombay High Court has also said that this work harms people's health and sanitation system. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the administration to stop it. Under the new rules of Mumbai Corporation, Solid Waste Management, Health and Sanitation By-laws, 2006, a fine of up to Rs 500 can be imposed for feeding pigeons at a non-designated place.
