Andrea Berta made quite the impression during the summer transfer window. The Arsenal sporting director, who promised to 'shape a successful future' when he replaced Edu in March, has welcomed plenty of new faces to the Emirates Stadium, while also offloading the deadwood.
Berta invested about £250m in Mikel Arteta's squad, bringing in a healthy balance of marquee forwards, midfield maestros and defensive stalwarts. While the Gunners have one of the greatest net spends in Europe, the Italian has managed to free up a lot of space on the wage bill.
