Arsenal's pursuit of a new striker has resulted in several players being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta went into last season with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as the recognised centre forwards in the Gunners squad. Injuries to both players and other members of the forward line left Arsenal without many of they key stars in the final third last term.
Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on a move to Arsenal this summer. football.london understands that a deal worth €63.5million (£55m), plus €10million (£8.7m) was verbally agreed between the Gunners and Sporting, with suggestions that a medical is next on the agenda.

Before news emerged that Arsenal were close to completing the signing of Gyokeres, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak was heavily linked with a move to North London.
Isak scored 27 goals in all competitions last term and has also been linked with Liverpool over the last few weeks.
Even though Arsenal are closing in on signing Gyokeres, it has not stopped rumours around Isak's future. In fact, a report in the Daily Mail on Thursday has claimed that Isak has expressed a desire to leave Newcastle this summer.
Arsenal are currently in Singapore for their pre-season tour of Asia. The Gunners are scheduled to face Newcastle in a friendly on Sunday in their next match, where they could have gone up against Isak.
However, it was confirmed on Thursday that Isak was not named in the Newcastle squad that has travelled to the Far East for their pre-season tour. Isak's absence and the latest update on his future have only intensified speculation that a move away from St James' Park could be on the cards this summer.
Arsenal were linked with signing Isak earlier in the year but a potential price tag of around £120million or more eventually led to those rumours quietening down. It remains to be seen where Isak will be playing his football next season amid the recent speculation around his future.
